About Arkansas Steel
Arkansas Steel Associates, LLC (ASA) was founded in 1989 as a joint venture between Yamato Kogyo and Sumitomo Corporation. The plant is located in northeast Arkansas in the town of Newport on 300 acres. ASA is a provider of products to a number of businesses and is the leading producer of railroad tie plates in North America. ASA takes pride in the manufacturing process necessary to produce high quality billets and tie plates, as they are ISO 9001 Certified. ASA is also aware of the potential environmental impact because of that process, which is why they are proactive in the approach of Environmental protection and are ISO 14001 Certified. Our employees are committed to maintaining the level of expectations needed to follow the requirements of each certification and continue to adjust over time to improve in both areas. ASA is dedicated to creating a safe, friendly, and fair work environment for employees while providing superior customer satisfaction.
